Madden Players' Madden NFL 16 "Multiple D" Defensive Guide
Designed for: Madden NFL 16 on Playstation 4 & Xbox One
Based on: Multiple D Defensive Playbook
The "Multiple D" Playbook has emerged as a favorite of many, featuring an incredible variety of some of the game's best formations, blitzes, run defenses, and coverage defenses---all in one playbook!
Whether you're a 4-3 or 3-4 oriented player, or perhaps you're the type to like to stay in Quarters, Nickel, Dime, or Dollar--no matter the case, this playbook and guide will fulfill your every defensive desire. The Multiple D Playbook defensive guide is an utterly refined masterpiece of strategic perfection, appealing to SIM or tournament player, novice or expert, and the straightforward or sophisticated.
My biggest intentions with this guide were unequivocal: Find the most consistent blitzes that sent the least amount of defenders possible, show you how to tweak as many blitzes as possible to still get in against extra blockers (some work against extra blockers even without tweaks, even as a 3-man rush), find run defenses that blow up the game's best tosses, inside runs, and shotgun inside zones out of the same setups that get nano-type pressure, and coverage (and aggressive catch) defenses that all work out of the same base setups that also bring pressure.
This guide is chock-full of consistent b/a-gaps, dual pressures to attack extra blockers, many 3-man and 4-man blitzes and even a 2-man blitz. I also made sure there were plenty of SIM League-friendly blitzes that required no manual movements. Several blitzes get in against extra blockers even without extra adjustments, some of which only rush 3-4 defenders and still get in against the blocked running back. I also made sure that a lot of blitzes worked out of most plays in a given formation, and that flipping the blitz by flipping the play is effective as well.
And most of all, the blitzes are consistent. The first thing some folks will tell you to try to lower your expectations immensely is that you can't run the same blitz too many times or the offensive line will adjust. That is completely false, and please don't believe that. Consistency in blitzes exists, it just takes hard work to find the right blitzes.
Our 4-3: Under Odd comes loaded with DE B-Gaps and edge pressures from every side of the offensive line, as well as a DT A-Gap blitz. 4-3: Under comes packed with incredible B-Gaps and Run Defense. Our 3-4: Solid and 3-4: Odd bring their own set of uncommonly fast DE B-Gap pressure from both sides, A-Gap/Edge pressure, with one of them being a 3-man rush, and sometimes Dual B-Gap blitz.
Continuing on with our Dime: Normal scheme, which has a whole scheme devoted to showing left/right edge and left/right B-gap pressure, all with the same look, as well as a Dual Edge or Dual B-Gap/Edge blitz. The Dollar: 3-2-6 also comes with its own scheme of dual edge pressure and left/right B-gap pressure sending as little as 4 rushers.
Last but not least, our Quarter: Normal Scheme brings you possibly the sickest defensive scheme in Madden NFL 16, featuring a 3-man DE B-Gap blitz that a RB doesn't pick up, a 3-man blitz that's a coverage defense (and an aggressive catch coverage defense) with man coverage and 3 deep blue zones that a RB also doesn't pick up, and a run defense all in the same look. I also include a mini scheme out of Nickel Normal and some Big: Nickel: Strong.
So if you're the type to like A and B-gap blitzes, especially by defensive linemen, this guide is absolutely loaded.
And the dreaded I Form, Strong I, and Weak I Quick Toss and inside runs... the Run Defenses in this guide lock that up tightly. I spent several hours specifically trying to figure out how to stop that run scheme---don't let it make you a victim. And aggressive catching? I show you how to shut that down as best as possible too while still getting nano-type pressure.
Whether you're having trouble stopping the run, locking up money plays, or just want to be more aggressive in your blitzing and yet still retain great coverage, this guide will certainly satisfy all of your needs.
The guide also includes DT A-gap blitzes, DE B-gap blitzes, edge-pressures, 3-man pressures, 4-man pressures, and pressures that an RB or TE cannot block.
The "Multiple D" Defensive guide features everything from schemes out of 34 Solid, 34 Odd, 43 Under, 43 Under Odd, Dime Normal, Quarter: Normal, Dollar 326, and Big Nickel Strong.
Learn how to run all of these powerful formations to their maximum capability and much more using all kinds of defensive line, linebacker, and coverage adjustments that will drive your opponents crazy.
"A lot of the base setups work against a blocking running back, and several of the run defenses are out of the same blitz setup, so basically you can get heat on the QB even with extra protection, AND shut down the run and pass with it." — Jeff
With this guide, learning is easier than ever as you can just hit the play button, sit back, and watch as we show you all the minor details of running these schemes in a matter of minutes. On top of that, each play comes with short, typed up steps as well so that you have all the most important information that you need to know when you are in the middle of gameplay.
This is extremely important if you need to look something important up during a match and you don't have much time in between plays.

Do these strategy guides work on Mac, Smart Phones, or Tablets? Back to top.
Yes to all three. Each guide is fully optimized to work on Macs, smart phones, tablets, and PCs. Any device that can load an internet web page can use the guide with complete functionality.
What is the purpose of this guide? Back to top.
The purpose of this guide is to make you a better player at Madden NFL 16 whether you play real people, against the CPU, online, or offline. The strategies in this guide are all game-play related, which means they deal with mainly the aspects of play-calling, play-adjustment, and play-execution.
What does this guide consist of? Back to top.
This guide mainly consists of Schemes. A Scheme by definition is a "systematic plan of action", and an "orderly combination of related parts". In other words, we define a scheme as two or more plays out of the same formation which we use as a systematic plan of action. We teach you how to adjust it, optimize it, when to switch plays, and how to counter most of the defenses or offenses someone could run against you with it. Above and beyond the play-breakdowns themselves, our voice-over commentary is also packed with tips and tidbits of information that can change the way you view each play and the game itself.
Why buy a "Bundle" package? Back to top.
There are several reasons why it is best to get a Bundle package and why many people get them besides the fact that it ends up being a better deal:
1. You learn about other popular defenses. By simply becoming aware of them you instantly gain an advantage on recognizing these strategies and then beating them when you encounter them, since you know what to expect and what it works or doesn't work against.
2. You can learn more different defensive concepts. In each guide, we try to make them unique, not only in the plays themselves, but in the general strategies that we season into each breakdown. By getting a variety of our guides, you will be exposed to countless defensive concepts that you can plug into any defense or playbook.
3. You can become more versatile and can switch playbooks against opponents who you play often. Given that each playbook only has a handful of money plays, people you play often can tend to catch on. By being able to use multiple playbooks you can always keep them on their heels trying to stop your powerful offenses.
4. If you use a custom playbook, you can add all, if not most, of the content from each guide into one playbook and have it all at your fingertips in each game.
Can I use this strategy guide with any team? Why is there a team name? Back to top.
The strategy guides can be used with any team you like and in any game mode. You can pick which playbook you want to use in the advanced options of the team-picking screen. The reason these strategy guides have names of teams such as "Indianapolis" is because we used the offensive playbook that naturally belongs to that team in the game but you can use any team's playbook with any team. The reason we break down team playbooks is for variety. We try to break down what we think are the best and most balanced playbooks in the whole game, that way you can have those great plays at your advantage so that you can be as competitive as possible.
Is this guide for competitive, experienced Madden players or for the casual/newbie gamer? Back to top.
The guide is for both. We pride in making tough concepts simple. We also hold our strategy to the highest standards so that they will be essential in very competitive situations.
Is this the typical "glitch" and "exploit" guide that I always see? Back to top.
